This may clearly sound like a provocation to you.
But today, I’d like to tell you a story about how the Angelo Affinita Foundation, the big family I have the pleasure and the honor to be part of, entrusts your money – and the money of the many people like you who are supporting us – into a project which could improve the fate of many kids from Campania living in juvenile holding facilities.
We are doing it because we believe anyone who trusts a non-profit organization with their money should know where that money goes.
In short, if we are not fully satisfied with a project, if we are not convinced, WE DO NOT INVEST A SINGLE CENT IN IT.
And every cent donated will go ENTIRELY into projects. It’s something I care about and I want it to be crystal clear to you.
Many organizations collect money and use a (large) part of it to cover the alleged operating costs. So if they collect 100, often just 80, 70 or even as little as 20 or 10 end up into projects…
At the Angelo Affinita Foundation every cent donated goes ENTIRELY into projects. So that the contribution will be as effective and powerful as possible.
That’s why today I want to tell you about a reliable project, which makes us proud and fills us with joy.
It’s an innovative project, not easy to be pursued but, if properly developed, it could really be a leap forward in the way we conceive professional education and in prisoners’ ACTUAL rehabilitation.
It concerns the many young boys who live in juvenile holding facilities. Today I want to show you one way we are trying to help them.
At the Angelo Affinita Foundation, we strongly believe that the real gift is work, and what they can accomplish with it.
Teaching struggling people a job is a lifetime investment. A heritage that shouldn’t go wasted.
But there is more. It’s a heritage that could be multiplied.
Think about it: a young man, who becomes a professional pizza maker while living in prison, once he gets out, can start working IMMEDIATELY. And build his own career step by step.
One day, with willpower and commitment, he could be able – why not? – to open his own pizzeria.
In one stroke, you save a kid from crime and put him back into the world, as a professional who can work and take care of himself.
This is the kind of project we love the most.
For this reason, the Young pizza makers advanced training course has been created. And it has been created inside this virtuous juvenile holding facility, in the province of Benevento.
The boys will be guided by great professionals, like Marco Armoriello, three-time world champion with his pizza, and Domenico Comune, experienced tutor in workgroup management. They will obtain a certificate valid in Italy and Europe.
The Angelo Affinita Foundation will also fund another course about Neapolitan pizza, open to the six most worthy attendees. It will be developed in collaboration with the CONSVIP of Naples and the Scuola Italiana Pizzaioli (Italian Pizza Makers School).
Therefore, after completing the course and taking the tests (one practice and one theory test), the boys will hold a very high-quality training. As you certainly know if you are following this page, it’s not the first time that the Angelo Affinita Foundation sets out to teach young prisoners a job.
The Young pizza makers training course follows what we already accomplished with CreAttiva, the professional ceramics course for Airola minors.
THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS A SUSTAINABLE GROWTH, A TOTAL REHABILITATION.
My happiness almost makes me hungry, I’d really like to get a pizza straight out from their workroom. To see in their eyes that another future is possible.
Angelo Affinita used to say, “The man makes a difference.”
